I have stayed at the San Remo at least 4 times and will likely stay there again in January for the chip show.
It isn't the Ritz, but they do not pretend to be more than they are-- a small, friendly place with ONE Senior host (Faye Able) and pit bosses (especially Joe, who, when you are reduced to playing $2 BJ will not record that play in an effort not to reduce your average bet)that remember you even if your visits are years apart. At least that has been my experience
I wonder if Mr. George is still dealing there? He is WELL into his 70s and is extremely interesting to talk to.
