Now you've done it Ralph.......mouse lovers and cat lovers from everywhere will be contacting you. My guess would be that cats actually do not like the taste or smell of mice which is probably why they catch them and then carry them off somewhere. Never heard of a cat actually eating a mouse. Might be a good way to put an overweight kitty on a diet - offer mouse flavored cat food. Actually, a diet like that would work for people too!
