PA STATE SENATE TO VOTE ON CASINO GAMBLING THIS WEEK
ISSUE: The Pennsylvania Senate is scheduled to vote May 12 or May 13 (next week) on legislation to allow up to 24,000 slot machines at eight horseracing tracks in Pennsylvania (four existing tracks and four new tracks). This bill has been placed on a “fast track,” bypassing the committee process, and appears to be part of a deal made between Senate leadership and the gambling lobby.
The vote will be a close one, and the outcome rests on the votes of just a few key Senators. It is very possible to help approve casino gambling – but only if citizens call, email or visit their State Senators.
1. Call your own state senator in his or her district office.
2. Then call or E-mail your connections in these key senate "swing" vote districts:
