You are nicer than I am. When it was happening to me a while back, I replaced the image with a rude, crude photo.

You know, what these people don't understand is that when they link to a photo on your web site, not only are they using the scan without permission, they are stealing your bandwidth from your server. It is not fair in any way and can actually COST YOU MONEY!
