"The law was pass (sic) by trial lawyers." Not true, good friend, simply not true. The laws that permitted the law suit were state (and federal) laws that came out of the common law and have histories going back hundreds of years. One thing I learned as a lawyer in Dakota that if you wanted the legislature to kill a bad bill would be to whisper, "It's a lawyers' bill" or "It's for the benefit of insurance companies."
Lawyers are inventive but they work from the sand in the pile. If we don't like the laws, change them, but stop hollering at lawyers.
