Someone came on the board here a few months ago (I can't remember their name) and offered to sell quite a few old bottles of wine at very reasonable prices. I decided to buy 4 of them. In the end I think they may have even been lucky to break even with shipping costs.

I just wanted to let everyone know that despite my efforts to keep them my wife put one in the fridge this week for my birthday. She said "what are you saving them for anyway"? My birthday I guess. So I proceeded to open the 1987 Louis Martini North Coast Gamay Beaujoulais. I was really disappointed when the 15 year old cork fell apart. I thought "uh-oh now we are in trouble. Here comes a bottle of vinegar". After cleaning out the dregs of the cork I tried the wine and........

It was great!! Even Cindy liked it. So I just wanted to thank again whoever it was that offered the wine here on the board. God isn't this a hobby with great people in it? You just never know what you will run into next.
