I use to live in the northern reaches of the tornado area (Southeast South Dakota; saw terrible things. On the way back from Kansas in '53 we saw a tornado ahead of us and when we got to the town that had been hit, among other things the Ford Dealer had just built a new huge building on the hill just north of the town; the new building was totally destroyed while the old wooden decrepit one behind it was untouched. Gave a ride from Pierre to S.F. in '58 to a salesman for Max Factor; his KC family hid in their basement and though the house was destroyed all were OK but the family next door were killed. I had tornados chasse me while driving in south central Dakota and watched tornados travel parallel with my car less than a mile away. So happy for you, Jim; so sad for the many whose homes and/or businesses were destroyed and for the many whose lives were lost.
