Contrary to most games of chance, poker (along with bridge) favors the players with the greatest skill and that is especially true in tournament play.

Follow along with the nightly reports by Andy Glazer describing the plays at the final table and the players that are at those tables. In most cases, the names will be familiar as the same group of players are at the final table (or at least in the money) year after year--save but the anomalous individual such as last years $10,000 buy-in winner.

There are many people who would love to try their hand in a casino tournament but know they are outclassed and therefore just throwing their money away. This gives them an opportunity to get their feet wet for a minimal amount until they develope their skill.

On the surface it seems as if the best players are going to get less for their money. I don't know if this is true or not as I believe it will entice a lot more novices to participate--ergo more money in the prize pot. We will find out after Ocean's 11 publishes their results.
