I saw what I think was the "MindPlay" system on TV somewhere and it had the cameras behind a two-way mirror under the dealers chip tray, pointing out toward the players. It looked as if the tray was raised about an inch with a narrow mirrored panel running along the front. The image presented looked pretty crummy. I guess they can pay for this boondoggle by offering 6:5 blackjack pays.
