and what a great day it was. Drove 170 miles from my home in northeast Ohio to Casino Niagara this morning. Played in CN's first roulette tournament ever. The results were great. All 84 players seemed to have a great time. A bit tense at times, but tons of fun.
I have to admit I did not make it out of the qualifying round. Bummer! But it took one fella at our table putting $100 straight up on a number
to beat me out. Each round was 15 spins of the wheel, and on the 15th spin, Dan from Toronto put his last $100 on 15 and hit. Wow! Bummed up as I was, I had to applaud.
Dan did not make it to the finals however, and did not walk away with the $1500 first prize. All seven of the finalists were in the money at the end. I think it went 1st $15000, 2nd $5000, 3rd $2500, 4th and 5th $1000, 6th and 7th $250.
So in the end, I drove 340 miles today, played lot's of craps and roulette during my seven hour stay at the casino, and came home with $9 more than I started out with.
I am tired and going to bed now. I can say that I will certainly be looking forward to the next roulette tournament in Niagara. But right now I have a slight fever and dry cough to conted with.
JUST KIDDING! But hey, watching all these folks from Toronto handeling all the chips and money at the tables...and all the interaction between players with the closeness at these tables...
I wonder if this SARS thing could end up affecting the casino's. What a better breeding place for this SARS virus to spread.
Can you imagine in The WHO orders the casino in Niagara to cease operating for three weeks?
Could happen. Don't ya think?
