Just off the top of my head , this was the 1931 MVP trophy what was awarded to Lefty Grove. It is now in George’s Creek Public Library in Lonoconing, MD (his home town). It is not in Cooperstown because Lefty donated the trophy to the High School in order for it to be on permanent display. The High School was remodeled several years ago and the trophy wound up in a store room. When it was recently found, it was given a permanent home in the library.

The man in the picture is J. Pinkerton Snoopington, Lefty’s high school pitching coach.

Actually, I just made up that last part.
