Yes, But first a little history. During the Civil War Salman P. Chase had received numerous request that IN GOD WE TRUST be put on coinage and in 1864 (?) Legislation was passed to do so. Notes however would lag long behind coinage. It was not until 1935 did the Words IN GOD WE TRUST appear on the $1 silver certificate, and then it was not on ALL of them because it was changed in mid-printing. (I think) in 1956~7 the Motto became the National Motto and appeared on all of the silver certificates. FRN (Federal Reserve Notes) did not carry the Motto until 1964 on notes UP to the $20 and 1966 on the larger notes.
