I never even suggested it was a freedom of speech issue. I suggested that the HOF was trying to silence dissent. This offends me personally because it is a sport attempting to attach itself to one side of a political debate. It is dishonest, because the president of the HOF is a former member of the Reagan administration. He has decided to politicize baseball. And to do it, he is punishing an entire film, the director of which has done nothing whatsoever, just so he can lash out at stars whose political opinions bother him.
Yes, it is the HOFs right to do so. But when people begin thinking of baseball as a political issue, this will be part of the reason. That isn't good for anyone.
