"The only thing I am ashamed of is that we needlessly put women in harm's way." ... Donald Tassie
I don't know about being ashamed... war is hell and there is nothing fair or gentlemanly about it.
Without exception; innocent women and children have been killed in every war in the past and will continue to be killed in future wars. Every politician, citizen, and armed service personel knows that fact going in. So do the news correspondents who are covering the war. The enemy knows that as well.
Those who did not know that in advance were the 3000 innocent people who perished on 9-11.... many of them were our valiant fire and policemen who died in vain while trying to save others.
Those who say 9-11-01 had nothing to do with the current war on terrorism are wearing blinders. If it were not for 9-11, I seriously doubt that the U.S. would be in Iraq today...
Yes, unfortunately, women are in harm's way .... our women and theirs. I'm glad and d amn proud that America has not turned her other cheek again. We've been too tolerant and sometimes indifferent to terrorism's past attrocities... until it happened to us.... our wake up call.
God Bless the Commander-In-Chief and his competent staff!
