What is the dark-side of my wife's Mickey Mouse collection?

It seems to me that having a slant towards the dark-side of any hobby will likely cause a pre-mature exit from that hobby and thereby leave a greater number of collectors who are not caught-up in the dark-side.

For example, just how big of a match book collection can a fire-bug put together before he/she becomes a former collector?
