About 30 casinos had brass 50c tokens made by Franklin Mint in 1967. They were in gaming token sets sold to collectors (proof, and proof-like types) and some of the clubs also put them into play since most of the government silver had been taken home by the players. As was mentioned, there were also silveen tokens made by 5-6 clubs the first year private gaming tokens were allowed by the feds. There was also a later 50c token made for Caesars Palace; I believe FM also made it but it's pretty tough to find.
Gaming tokens are an interesting bit of unexplored terrority in our hobby. Outside of the lists that Janice makes and some dealer sales lists, there's not much to refer to. There are Krause Publications reference books for the Franklin Mint tokens, one for each year of issue starting in 1965.
