Be prepared to scrounge around for lots of new drivers to work with XP, Don. If you have any really old or oddball hardware items, you may not be able to use them at all.

XP is much less of a hassle installing on a new machine. I bought the XP upgrade over a year ago for my desktop and the software is still in the box. The list of prerequisites and warning that the pre-install sweep came up with scared me off.
