RE-reading my post, I do want to take back my assertion that BUsh is spreading a "lie" that Osama is linked to Saddam. WHat I meant was that Bush was spreading this allegation, which I have seen no proof of. Bush may well believe it to be true, and it wasn't my intention to imply that he is purposefully deciving people. I have no knowledge of what is in the President's heart, and what his motivation is. I still believe he is spreading an allegation that has no tbeen proven in any way. Why he choses to spread that allegation is anyone's guess.
I hate to get caught up in rhetoric and name calling. As I've said before, I fully acknowledge the chance that I'm completely wrong on this one, and the President is right. But based on what I've seen and read, I think the odds are better that the President is wrong. It's just an opinion, and it runs 60/40 in my head. I'm more concerned with the underlying issues, and the unwillingness of some to accept dissent as an important American value.
