Canada aren't become anti-war as a policy. They believe there were other solutions. The 5 points (or questions) for Saddam that Blair wanted to use was originally proposed by the Canadians.
There already is a large US military base in about 2 hourse from me in Spain, near Cadiz, I can't see local supprt for it getting any bigger.
That whole story is pathetic (and more than likely a crock of sh*t) and to me suggests provocation of acts of humiliation to the enemy -US PoW's perhaps?
Harsh treatment on individuals of a certain poplation (as in a religion, race etc..) will always be felt by the 'whole'. The accidental bombing of that market, although not on purpose, has finally united the arab world in oppossing the war. I spent 6 years in Qatar (1983 - 1989, per US military base days), uniting the arab world on anything is some work! Although accidental, those 15 deaths will cause many promblems in the Iraq PR battle.
Before anyone shouts at me, I am actually for the war after considering the evidence privided in the media and govt releases, I also despise my fellow students who believe they are cool and 'with it' because they have suddenly adopted active liberalism.
