On ebay, if you check the bid history of an item, it states "Remember that earlier bids of the same amount take precedence." I have noticed that if I make a proxy bid of, say $10.00 on a $2.00 item and someone else makes a last-minute bid of $5.00, they charge me $5.50. Shouldn't I get the item for $5.00 since I bid that amount first? On higher priced items the amount is even more. I wonder how much ebay makes on this practice? Always wanted to get that off my chest.
