I'm surprised no one mentioned using the hotel safe deposit box. I've used it many times for valuables including cash and particularly valuable chips. You can't fit all your chips into it, but you can put the most valuable ones there. It is a free service, as I recall. Nice to tip the one who handles the keys, etc, especially when you close out the box.
