I don't know why there are those sudden dips and peaks. Outages? Free posting days? Also, I think that you can't multiply the "daily" by 365 to get the annual number of auctions on eBay (nor could you add up the totals for the 365 days of a year), because the "daily" figures here are just the number of auctions on a particular day. Many of the auctions run for 7 or 10 days, so a 10-day auction, for example, would be counted on each of 10 days.
