Yes it should detect any virus in your system as long as it has a definition of that virus. If your have done a new update on your definitions and did a manual system disk scan and still have viruses in your systwm your have a virus that is undefined. This is why I keep my subscription current because I would then sent the suspected file to Norton and they will analyze it and tell you what it is. This is one of the ways they find new ones.
