In Marbella, roulette is played as follows (when a '0' is hit)
Those who bet on odds or evens lose, those who bet on colours have their wager pushed back and they are forced to play the next spin. If they win, they keep the original wager but all loser lose their bets.
The first few times I ever went into that casino I was unsure as to the roulette rules regarding the '0'. I would just see them push my chip back. On time I went to pick it up and they all started calling to me saying I can't touch it. I apologised and forgot about it, assuming it had been lost.
Anyway, i kept playing and about 5 spins later an old scandinavian woman asked me if I was betting it all on the colour. Naturally I was confused and looked down - my bet had been running the whole time as I assumed it was lost and not still in play - I had won the last 5 spins and won over €150 ( big money when your playing the €5 minimums).
Well, there is a rather long explanation as to why I know the Casino de Marbella rule, I have always assumed that those are the rules in general. Then again, this was one FRENCH ROULETTE. The American Roulette tables have a €10 minimum.
