I agree completely that her actions are unpatriotic (and personally distasteful to me.)
Most Americans ARE patriotic as I'm sure we both are. But I don't see how any of us gain though by forcing the few that aren't patriotic to pretend to have feelings that they don't. Doesn't it give us more pride when thousands stand and sing the national anthem, not because they are afraid of losing their scholarship, but out of genuine feeling and love for our country and all that it stands for?
