I happy to see you admit that her actions are unpatriotic. There are many ways this young woman could express her beliefs. Doing so on the basketball court is an act of disrespect, pure and simple.

She's probably attending school on an athletic scholarship, getting a free ride so to speak, from the very system that she is disrespecting in a very public (and distasteful) manner. I think her removal from the team and yanking of any scholarship funds would be appropriate. It would not be an act that one could compare to what might be enacted by a totalitarian regime. She would still be a free American. It would open her eyes (maybe) to just how good she had it in the country she so disrespects.
