Norm- I'll agree with you on that. Then again, as someone who writes for a living, I'm equally concerned with making sure that the meaning of what I write is easily interpreted, and that any sarcasm is apparent (for example, I assumed everyone would know that I didn't really vote for you for dictator).
It takes two to misinterpret something: the writer for not making his true meaning clear, and the reader for not paying close enough attention. I've read and re-read yur statement, and I still think that you resorted to hyperbole to make your point. I find that particularly dangerous becuase there are many Americans who truly believe that protesting military action is an act of treason. I've encountered the "America, love it or leave it" attitude far too many times in my life to just assume that no rational American would make that point. But I'll also accept responsibility for not seeking clarification before responding. THat would have been much wiser on my part.
