I think you're right about chips leaving the tables, but I figure that a couple of alarms at the doors and that would stop any leaving the premises. Not that I want this, but I guess it could happen.
All comes down to whether the cost is proportionate to the cost of losing a few roulette chips, or any possible fraud. I don't think it would be a viable proposal unless the casino wants the technology for other recording or accounting purposes, in which case a couple of alarm sensors at the doors would just be a minor cost as a percentage of the overall scheme.
Still a while away from being used in practice though I guess.
