My father in law made it for me. He is the Bob Vila of the family. He is retired and loves to do wood working. He used his plan for his logo golf ball racks (he has 5 of them up in his house) and modified it for my chips. They aren't dowels they are some kind of craft wheel holder which keeps the chips in place and yes it is green felt. We played around for a while trying to get it right. I told him instead of just drilling one board drill three so you can make three. hahaha He had a template thing set up for his drill press. Number two is on the way. Needs to paint the pegs and mount the door and then another 286 chips will be displayed.
Also Terry, I remember reading about some collectors getting robbed after articles were written about their collection so be careful with your interview. I think Travis might remember I think he was the one who mentioned it a while ago.
If you want I can find out more about the dimensions and let you know what those things are called that hold the chips.
If you come to Chicago maybe you could head out farther west and see it for yourself and suck down a few cold ones after the chip show.
