Slabbing has not ruined the fun of chipping because the chip collecting community has kept slabs out of the hobby so far. As long as the anti-slabbing community of chippers remain vigilant, our hobby will remain free of the abuses that have been well documented in other hobbies as a result of slabbing greed.

While everyone is free to deal with whomever and whatever collectibles strike your fancy ... it is also the rights of others to call to everyone's attention the potential abuses that slabbing in our chip hobby represents.

With the 2003 International convention rapidly approaching; I would hope that new-comers to the hobby will also consider taking the pledge not to do business with chip dealers who engage in the practice of slabbing of chips.
