I think this what Norm meant to say :)
In Response To: Counter these ()

Hello everyone, the counters that are most commonly used on ebay, (Anadale and Honesty), and any other brand of counter, can also be used at Jackpot.

A counter is a very simple web tool, with a very small amount of html needed to perform the operation. Just send me an email, and I will send you the html code for the counter,(it's only about 2 lines). All you need to do is just copy and paste it into any ad description at any online auction, and you will have a counter.

We are also in the process of adding the "AuctionTamer" service to our website, which includes: counters, auction sniper, collection management "shareware" software, and seller ad templates.
The action has increased steadily at our site. JackpotAuctions.com now receives an average of 1.3 million page views per month. We have about 3000 registered users, and I assure you, as our financial resources allow, we will make every improvement possible.

I do realize that ebay is a huge company with enormous financial resources. But I also see that nearly all of the recent ebay chip and strike auctions have not been doing so well. Even the tried and true itmes like the Hard Rock chips have suffered greatly. If you compare like items at both sites, you will see that the differences are not drastic. On some items, we close higher...while on others...ebay closes higher. The prices on Jackpot have held steady for the most part, and our promotions have certainly proven to encourage the buyers to bid more often.

The major differences are as follows:

JackpotAuctions.com is made up of chip and strike collectors, we know your concerns and we listen to your opinions. The issues that are important to the CC+GTCC and its members, are important to us...and we try our best to support the club and its interest in any we way we can.

JackpotAuctions.com is much younger than ebay. If you remember the beginning of ebay, than you will recall that they have had their share of "growing pains" throughout the years. We are growing and maturing, and we are committed to making this work to everyones benefit.

The fee schedule. We charge a flat fee for listings, we do not charge additional fees for "reserve" auctions or auctions that start at greater prices. It's about being fair, it does not cost us one extra penny if you are selling a $1 chip, or if you are selling a Hard Rock $25 Sammy Hagar. At the end of the month, all those extra fees add up. All of our other services are included free of charge.

Innovation: I believe JackpotAuctions.com has done it's part in bringing the future closer...and bringing it here faster! In fact, we created the "timeset" feature that allows you to schedule your auction to end when YOU want it to. This is a very convenient feature. You can start your ad at midnight, but set it to close at say, 6 pm, (primetime). Now you can have dinner with your family, and still have your auction end at the best times. The "Reverse Auction" format was designed in house exclusively for Jackpot. We also have the fastest "creation to posting" ratio of any online auction house. At JackpotAuctions.com, your ad is immediately added to the current listings. This is not true anywhere else. At ebay, the average is 3 hours from the time you click the "submit" button to the time your ad is visible in the category.

Cross-market: Believe me when I say that I realize the impact of cross-marketing. BUT, I also know the value of being market-specific. At ebay, you may get occasional cross-market bids, and this can be good. But here is an example of a factor that that should also be noted.
When the Hard Rock "No Doubt" chip came out, my wife ran some on Jackpot...and some on ebay.
On Jackpot, they averaged about $9.50 each. On ebay, they averaged a little over $10 each. I feel this was due to the cross-market bidding. HOWEVER, of all the chips sold on Jackpot, each and everyone was paid for promptly. On the other hand, nearly all of the ones that sold on ebay went "unpaid". The cross-market bidders did push the bids up a small amount, but the interest they had in these chips was fleeting at best.
In a market-specific environment, everyone has a common interest. There is much less ad-trickery. Everyone tends to know each other, and there are generally many less problems such as over-priced shipping, non payment...etc.

The action at Jackpot will improve as more sellers come aboard. It's like the chicken and the egg...which one came first, I do not know...but I do know know that they both go hand in hand. The bidders and sellers are both needed for the success of any auction site.
My hopes are that we can bring both sides together, give the sellers a better rate and
encourage the bidders to bid more, more often, (through promos like JackpotPoker). By doing this, it helps enable us to live up to our commitment to the community of helping out where ever we are needed.
