That is why I think the fact that the Editor solicited the article is a relevant consideration. I would have been much more inclined to think publication was appropriate if Mel had merely submitted it to the Editor who after reviewing felt that this " heart-felt tribute to a well-respected and loved Hall of Fame, Life Member #2, former club officer of the organization" was worthy of publication.

I think the Editor has done a wonderful job with the magazine and I thank him for the many hours he donates to the club. However I think asking Mel to submit an article was a mistake. Not the end of the world.
