What is right to some, may be wrong to others and what is wrong to some, may be right to others. Having reviewed the Constitution, By-Laws and Ethics, it appears there is no reason why a member, non-member or expelled member cannot write an article in the magazine. So now it becomes what was right to some... publishing the article, is wrong to others.
The real issue then lies with should publication of articles be limited only to members (in good-standing) of the ?
Chuck believes this to be true... regretfully, he chose to pick his battle with an article written about a well-loved member of the . Instead of debating the limitations of what should or should not be published, everyone is defending their lost friend.
To make this objective, we need to remove the subjective portion... everyone's feeling and emotions for this particular article.
Other chat rooms/message boards I belong to have the ability to post surveys. This may be a great way to really see what the members feel objectively (once a vote is cast in the survey, it displays the current tally and prohibits you from voting again).
I hope the majority rules in this decision... my vote would be to allow anyone with useful information to publish an article in the magazine if it serves the membership in the pursuit of knowledge of Casino Chips & Gaming Tokens.
