Though a bit surprised to see Mel's tribute to Bruce in the Club magazine, I felt that it was not inappropriate to print it. Like some others I was deeply saddened to learn of Mel's involvement in the brass chip problems and though I understood the expuslion action that was taken, this did not affect my friendship or sorrow for him. If there was (or is) a prohibition for articles by non-club members then a mistake was made in publishing it. But it was a fine tribute to a wonderful man and I gained by reading it.

Someday when the brass chip matter has cooled I will add some thoughts about Mel.
