was as it related to your membership in the CC>CC and the Code of Ethics. However, I have since learned that your membership has lapsed and that the two aspect of the Code of Ethics that may be at jeopardy just don't apply as a threat to your membership.
In the meantime, both of those Code of Ethics elements still have applicability to members in good standing with the CC>CC (and also members of the Silver Striker's Chapter of the CC>CC), which represents a significant number of your target audience for this sale.
The Code of Ethics entries that I am referring to essentially state that a member will not buy or sell an item in which ownership is at issue, and that a member will conduct their collecting activities in accordance with State and Federal Laws.
Although I do not know the specifics of the NFL action to Circus Circus and (if I understand correctly) some of the NIS people in Vegas, however I think it has to do with dissemination of an un-lisenced product for profit. I know of no action for anyone in possesion of the chips to return them, but there sure seems to be some legal actions to stop selling them. I suspect that that "stop selling" action would likely be applicable to any other person or entity trying to sell them.
It seems to me that if several of the NIS entities are refusing to disseminate the Circus Circus chip (at least publicly) then I figured that Jackpot Auctions Inc., might be concerned of a liability and was just wondering if you or Jackpot might know if this is a non issue.
I'd hate to make a bid on the chip, become the winner and then have the NFL confiscate it through a legal action. Would you be willing to refund the cost if something like this were to happen?
Thank you,
Jim Follis
