Re: LE vs. House Chips
In Response To: LE vs. House Chips ()

My question has always been, Why do many purist collectors look down on LE's as garbage ?
I suppose to some degree I can answer my own question by saying that the major portion of these chips are issued for the sole purpose of casino profit.
Few if any have historical significance.

I then look at some of the more coveted chips of the past. I would assume that aside from the history attatched to them, it is the fact that they are in extremely short supply. If you have 5 or 10, everyone wants them. When you have a 1000 the are used to level furniture that wobbles.

I think that this hobby is still in its infancy.
The time will come when the older LE's will be sought after just like the early NV chips are today.
On most LE's we have a record of production. I don't think that hold true for current house chips which could be produced in the 10's of thousands.

It would not surprise me that some years down the line as this hobby grows, Many of the LE's that don't deserve a second look today will also be sought after
