The Grove of Grove & Mathews is Robert Moses "Lefty" Grove, perhaps the greatest southpaw of all times. Lefty's Place and Stakem's were bowling alleys/pool halls both located on Union St. in Lonaconing Md.
My grandparents ran Lefty's place for him for several years.
