Brian; The Anderson ashtray book is a superb reference work. The estimated values that Art published in his book were probably the best-guess estimate on values at that time.

Since then, interest in ashtray collecting has increased dramatically ... thereby causing more demand by collectors for tougher trays ... making the original estimates in many cases obsolete in today's market. Having said that; many ashtrays in Art's book can be purchased for well below his estimates ... which is the case for ANY published reference work on collectibles in general.
