I forgot to mention thisa one, and its one I concider very important.
tTrades often take numerous emails back and forth to get to the point of a mutual agreement. It's important when going back and forth to use the reply feature of the email and not send a new email. This allows the person receiving the email to review the last things that were said and to refresh their memory on where they were. Its very common for a collector to be participating in numerous trades at once, and this way one doesnt have to go back and find the previous emails.
Another point: Once it has been established that a person is interested in an item, it is customary to pull that item and set it aside. This ackomplishes two things.
1. It is visually confirmed that the item is there and avaiable. Sometimes we all forget to remove an item for our trade lists after its been traded. Its not a good thing to find out late that the chips was traded 3 months ago.
2. If another person is interested in that same item, you'll know that it is in limbo or in the process of being traded. It may still eb available if the trade doesnt acktually work out, so many chippers will list that item as on "hold" until the trade is complete. Its considered extremely rude to be in trade negotiations and then trade the chip to someone else. If a particular trade is taking a long time to cfomplete you can always let the other person know that there is another person interested in the item as well.
One of the important things in this hobby is consideration towards others.Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Don't be afraid to apologize when you screw up and be up front and righteous. Always, always remember that what goes around comes around.
