If a player wants to play a higher denomination than the table minimun they can. Say the table min. is $1 .....you could make your chips be worth $1 or $5 each or whatever you desire (depending on the table max.) The dealer marks up the amount you are using your chips as so the next dealer and the floor both know. That way when you leave the table and change for value chips you get paid the right amount. also........You never want to go roulette harvesting with your chips worth more than $1 ha-ha-ha
