That seems extreme to me, too, BUT I don't collect them. I think $15.000 and change was paid for a casino chip, right? Think that might be a little extreme for most folks? My husband and I paid just shy of $700 for a Sahara ashtray... a little extreme to most folks? There's a couple of Hard Rock chips that regularly bring $2000, right? Extreme for a chip issued within the last 2-3 years? It's all in the eye of the bidder!
I don't know what the "going price" is for Borland chips, because I don't collect them. I just know, from reading the board, that others do collect them. Those that collect them value them higher than the "A" that TCR gives them. That's what I was trying to explain to Dave.
