I don't know about them being retired. I have received 3 e-mails this week from different people offering the £2.50 - none mentioned it being retired. However, they did catch me off eBay UK and request cash up front, didn't send me a scan either. IT could be the same person trying to scam UK chippers now the chip is retired.
