You should probably check with a site like orbitz, expedia, or travelocity. They often have pretty good deals on hotels in Vegas, especially this time of year. For inexpensive and (relatively) clean you might try Excalibur/Luxor. Harrahs is a great location (near Venetian and Mirage) and usually has some good deals as well.
