Joe; So then you must think that the seller's $1 Showboat token offer was a decent offer? A $1 token (silver) that the seller describes as a chip that is well worn "but can still see the logo and Showboat .... 35 years in business .... used to have a bowling alley .... " for a $100 opening bid?
My so-called "attitude" comes from life's experiences. If you have had success with ZERO feedback and dark glasses on ebay, that's fine ... you are free to bid in their auctions. I will not. If the seller wants to get rid of the dark glasses and develop a feedback rating; the way to do that is to instill some trust among potential bidders and offer material at reasonable opening bids. I think the seller falls short in this case.
You stated; "But if people acted like that, there would be no sellers." "The glasses go after 30 days, if a person has listed and people never bought from them due to the glasses, it is likely that the sellers will leave after 4 failed auctions."
With sellers like this one ... unless he she intended to put a decimal after the numeral "1" ... I don't think the hobby or ebay buyers will miss him/her.
Just my candid opinion. Gee, I think I would make a good judge on American Idol!
