Rick; I can only guess at a response to your question ... but keep in mind that this is the BACK UP to the original $1 chip issued in 1986 that has been recently put into play at Trump Plaza.
As most A.C. collectors are aware, Trump Plaza has removed all of their CHIPCO's from play (except for the $2.50 and $20 Pai-Gow chips) and has gone back to the Paulson product. I'm told that all of the CHIPCO LE's that were in the vault have been destroyed. The original entire Trump Plaza series, including the $1 chip with 4 red edge inserts (TPP-1), did not have "Atantic City" on the chips ... so it's a logical conclusion that the back-up chip from 1986 would not have "Atlantic City" on the chip either.
Just a hunch; but I would presume that the regulations have changed since 1986 that now requires "Atlantic City" be on all new chips. I'm fairly certain that Gaming has approved the use of the back up chips (sans Atlantic City) that are currently on the tables.
