MGM Grand might not be a bad idea. It's convenient to the Coca-Cola and M&M museums, as well as New York New York with its roller coaster. Given the size of MGM Grand (I think it has 5000 rooms), you'd be wise to request a room near the elevators so as to lessen the walk from/to the room. Since you have a child with special needs, I think they'd go out of their way to accommodate you. Since it's across from the Tropicana, you'd be nearby. Good luck and I wish you a safe and happy trip.
