Pai Gow is one amazing game. Well, maybe I should clarify my statement to say that the players are one amazing group of people.

I see basically the same people in my local card room day after day playing hours on end for hugh amounts of money. At first I thought it was all drug money and knowing another shipment was coming in tomorrow, a big loss tonight wouldn't matter. I thought this, because some years ago (when I was still working) a client of my was the manager of the Pai Gow section at the Bicycle Club and he realted a story to me about a person sitting down at a table with a brown paper sack consisting of 1 million dollars and lost it all without an expression of any sort as he was walking out of the club.

But I have now changed my mind. All those poeple couldn't possibly be dealing.

In any case, one would think that not one of those daily players would have enough money to pay their monthly rent or have enough for food, but they sure have an awful lot of "white" chips on each shuffle of the cards. Once in while one can even see someone win, but generally the greed takes over and they stay too long ending up with the inevitable results.

But tomorrow is another day and there they are again with another hugh wad of cash bulging from their Haggard slacks that need washing so very much.

It sure is a mystery to me where it all come from. All ages, from the youth to the very elderly--all with cash and all losers.

The other day I saw the 77lb. janitor playing. Geez.
