All Palms rack chips have a laser marker inbeded in the inlays. We have laser readers the size of a fountain pen that can read the markers. They look like penlights.
Another casino with the same system can not read our markers nor could we read theirs.
We beta tested this system for B&G.

I have seen the system you are describing. It works. Stack 20 chips or more at ramdom and it will give you the total of all and a list of each.

All of the above is about to become obsolete with the "Mind Play" system now being beta tested at the LV Hilton. Cameras are in the rails of the BJ tables. The system is reading the edge spots on their new chips. The system is supposed to tell you everything that is happing on the table and who is betting how much.
The MGM Mirage, Mandalay Group, and Park Place have all signed on to the system. When approved we will see the largest amount of new issued chips in the history of NV. B&G and Bud Jones chips are reccommended with the system as their edge spots are consistantly the same.
