Bob I used to use web2mail and it works fine, also I have stuck it out with Netscape mail, which doesn't accept these virus messages. (most are designed and target Microsoft products)
I recently migrated my Prodigy account to the SBC Yahoo service. They have a spamguard, most junk messages go into a bulk folder (80-90%), and can be deleted before downloading. After that I can delete messages that make the inbox, also before downloading to my computer. It's very much like web2mail, only easier to remove the spam and virus messages.
Add in Netscape, and Norton antivirus and it's pretty clean around here.
As for Kinko's, it's a good idea, but one never knows, what the previous person had on their disk, when they used the machine. One virus that almost got onto the home computer came from a friend who used the local library computer to type up some pages of text. It was infected!
Meanwhile the problem isn't with the people here who get the virus, or those of us who take care. It's someone who has the virus and doesn't use anti-virus software. They are the ones passing on the infected emails, and they don't know it. I don't expect anyone in the future to confess that they found out, their computer was the cause, even if they do find out they have goldfish or klez and remove it.
Those with Prodigy should consider migrating to SBC Yahoo, the new system. It is much better for mail filtering.
