Yes, the dice in the gift shops are usually a mixed lot. Sometimes I go through the entire selection to find some matching pairs.

And, sometimes I go to the pit and ask the Pit Manager if he could possibly give me some cancelled dice, and explain that since I am a dice collector and I need a lot of dice, I cannot afford to pay the high price in the gift shop, and that it is difficult to find matching pairs and matching sticks of dice in the gift shop.
